The Department has updated the legal framework for working with looked after children based on the Children Act 1989. These pages detail how the framework works as a whole and provide downloadable copies of all the revised regulations and guidance making up the looked after children legal framework. The page on 'How to use the Framework' explains how the individual regulations and guidance work together to form the legal framework for looked after children and under which theme opposite copies of the regulations and guidance can be found.
