The Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) was successfully launched in September 2012 with the aim of ensuring that newly qualified social workers (NQSWs) receive consistent support in their first year of practice so that they are able to become confident, competent professionals.
Since its launch in September 2012, nearly 2000 NQSWs have benefitted from the programme.
On 11th March 2013 the Government announced the availability of a second year of funding for ASYE. Organisations interested in delivering the ASYE programme in 2013 -14 should complete the online registration page.
Organisations who are already delivering the ASYE programme do not need to complete a registration form.
The Department and Skills for Care have jointly published information covering:
- introduction to ASYE
- registration and funding
- support and assessment
- case studies which illustrate the standard expected at ASYE and holistic assessment
- informing judgements and processes for ASYE
The information can be found on the Skills for Care website, where there is also a link to updated frequently asked questions about the ASYE. More material will be added in due course to this section of the Skills for Care website to assist with implementation.
For more information please see frequently asked questions about the ASYE.
