Update, October 2011

In the past, Data Collection Sub-ICES have been held in November. However, the running of such events is not part of the Department's current communication strategy and so, at present, we do not plan to run any further data collection conferences with local authorities. We are developing alternative channels for ensuring effective communication. 

ICES meetings

These events have been held with LAs and other partners to discuss data-related developments across the education, skills and children's services (ESCS) sector.

The aims of the events have been

  • to provide an opportunity for consultation, and formal and informal exchange of information between LA delegates and other organisations on children's and school data, the Department's data collections and data-sharing activities and other data-related initiatives
  • to enable participants to provide updates on progress, concerns, developments and plans
  • to enable feedback and discussion.
