As part of our transparency agenda we have released on 14 February more detail, providing further breakdown of students achieving AAB in facilitating subjects and Level 3 Value Added.

On 24 January, we published the 2012 School and College Performance Tables.

What is new in the 2012 KS4 Tables ?

New indicators this year include attainment and progress measures for:

  • Non-mobile pupils i.e. those who have been in the school throughout both Years 5 &, 6;
  • Boys and Girls separately;
  • Pupils with English as an Additional Language;
  • Pupils on Free School Meals (FSM)/Children Looked After – recalculated for 2011 to include the new definition of FSM i.e. in receipt of FSM within the last 6 years.

They also include new graphs on the school page showing:

  • 5 A*-C grade GCSE (and equivalent) including English & maths GCSEs performance over time;
  • Spend per pupil over time.

A list of top performing state funded schools sent congratulatory letters from David Laws, the Minister of State for Schools, can be found at http://www.education.gov.uk/secondary_12/documents.html along with details of the criteria used to identify them.

What is new in the 2012 KS5 Tables ?

  • Percentages of students achieving three A levels at grades AAB or higher in facilitating* subjects reflecting the subjects and grades most commonly required at Russell Group and other top universities;
  • A level only indicators;
  • A level and other advanced level academic qualifications (IB, Pre-U and AQA Bacc) indicators.
  • From early February 2013, the KS5 website will include aggregated Level 3 Value Added qualification scores for each school and college as download data.

*Facilitating subjects are: Mathematics and Further Mathematics, English (Literature), Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, History, Languages (Classical and Modern)
