In this section you will find information about assessment at Key Stage 1. This includes the phonics screening check which is administered to all children in Year 1. It also includes tasks and tests which can be performed at any time during Year 2, so children may not know that they are being formally assessed. These tasks and tests are designed to be administered informally as part of normal classroom activity. The results inform teachers’ overall assessments in English, mathematics and science, which are reported to parents and the Department.
