	Patrick Leeson is Director of Education and Care at Ofsted and an independent observer of the Review of Teachers&amp;rsquo; Standards. He is responsible at Ofsted for policy and development for inspection of schools, Early Years settings and childcare as well as initial teacher education.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;p&gt;&#xD;
	Until September 2009, he was Strategic Director of Learning and Children&amp;rsquo;s Services for the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames. He had previously worked as the Chief Inspector of schools in an inner London borough following a number of years as an inspector and adviser in several local authorities. Patrick has worked as a headteacher and in the early part of his career he taught English and drama in secondary schools. He also sits on the National Curriculum Review Advisory Committee.&lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
