Scope note / definition
From January 2007 the Pupil Level Annual School Census (PLASC) was replaced by the School Census for all schools. The School Census collects key data on around 8 million pupils and around 25,000 schools; and pupil level data have been collected since 2002. Source: DfE website accessed 2012-06-11
