Race equality schemes

Scope note / definition

Public bodies have a specific duty to prepare and publish a race equality scheme (public authorities), or a race equality policy (schools and institutions of further and higher education). The purpose of this is to explain how they will meet both their general and specific duties under section 71(1) of the Race Relations Act.
